Hi, I'm Angela Coffman, designer and owner of Blessed Designs. Our original goal was to: "encourage mothers to nuture and care for as many children as God is willing to send. One way we hope to do this is by offering affordable, modest sewing patterns for nursing mothers. Eventually we hope to expand to maternity patterns and books and helps on frugal living and family life." We have done that and are now expanding our vision!

I have been sewing since a small child. I make most of my children's and my clothing. My degree is in elementary education, so when the idea for Blessed Designs first came into my head there was a huge hurdle of education. I could not go back to school to take the classes in drafting, grading etc. that I needed. The way for this education came through interlibrary loan programs. I borrowed university textbooks; and through the Lord's help, digested and applied what I needed to begin this company.

I am a stay at home mom to 5 little blessings age 9, 7, 5, 3 and 18 months. We hope the Lord will bless us with more children. I work on my business when I can between caring for these precious souls and homeschooling. I have been married to my Dear Husband for 10 years.

Debt free living is very important to us. About 5 years ago we discovered Dave Ramsey (see links) on our local radio station. He was featuring a contest at the time, the winners of which had to save the most money and pay off the most debts in a 6 month period. We were thrilled to be part of the top 10 in that contest and Dave took us to the Bahamas with the other finalists for a week in paradise. We are applying his debt free living principles to this business, so my ability to print new patterns rests not only on time to work, but funds from selling my existing patterns.
