The Jillian Tunic has two set of pattern pieces one cut for maternity with a fuller bust and hip line and a drop hem at the front all to accomodate a growing bump. The non-maternity cut is slimmer through the bust and hips but still gives a free flowing fit that is easy and fun to wear.
The Jillian Tunic is styled with shoulder princess lines and a smocked front center panel. The back center panel has inverted pleats which create gentle ruffles at the square neckline. Lightly puffed sleeves are pleated at the hem, echoing the back pleats.
3 smocking options are included in the pattern: American smocking done by hand, machine shirring with elastic thread, or mock machine smocking using basic built in decorative stitches. None of the options require pre-pleating the fabric.
3 yards of 45" woven fabric is plenty to make the largest size. If you are using a sheer fabric such as Dotted Swiss you may want to line your tunic (2 yards of fabric), instructions are included. Opaque fabrics do not require a lining.
All sizes XS-XXL (bust measurements 32-50) are included in one envelope, and full size pattern pieces are printed on heavy white paper.
